laurie-ann teaches art at masterpeace academy on tuesdays
Principal Mella Davis asked Laurie-Ann to take over teaching art. She previously was using the Meet the Masters curriculum for Vincent Van Gogh. L-A continued with Mary Cassatt and Piet Mondrian. The boys loved doing Mondrian, particularly because they also got to experience some of L-A's art that was influenced by it.
Since then, we have continued in Art History selections, where we have links to the powerpoint slides in Tony's Flickr account.
We will then move on to doing art in the styles of:
Cave Paintings, Roman mosaics, Impressionism, Vincent van Gogh, Chagall, Georgia O'Keeffe, Joan Miro, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and more. Everytime L-A thinks she's come to the end, the Holy Spirit inspires her for more.

Art through the Ages part 4: Prophetic Art in the Styles of the Ages
L-A asked the boys what prophetic artists were their favourites. Khanyo answered "Akiane," even though he only saw her painting of Jesus that she did at age 8. Mmpho had no qualms of saying that Laurie-Ann is his favourite artist. Oh, Mmpho!
Laurie-Ann's artist journey as shared with MasterPeace Academy (non-exhaustive)
Georgia O'Keefe - Life through the viewfinder (Winter Term 2018)
Pop Art: Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Claes Oldenberg (Spring Term 2018)
Vincent van Gogh - Intense genius, passion and colour (Spring Term 2018)
Laurie-Ann shares a video of Vincent Van Gogh's work paired with Don MacLean's song "Starry, starry Night." L-A still remembers when her high school art teacher Bonnie Boyd shared this film in her art class. Two terms later, she shared this video again with the "Loving Vincent" trailer and clips from New Doctor Who's "Vincent"
Summer Term 2019: New students, some of which are pretty young. I am switching from art history for a while to the elements of art.
