My Father's House Worcester is a community project led by our friend Jan Buchanan. Some pictures from that ministry will be on the My Father's House Worcester website, although we run the Monday club (which became the Mailbox Clubs, run by MFHW teens). My Father's House runs on other days giving many other outreaches. Tony and Laurie-Ann helped lead the Monday kids club with Soraya Volkwyn, which met at the Avian Park library on Monday afternoons from January - September 2018. At the same time, some of the older children (teens and tweens) have been trained as small group leaders utilizing the Mailbox Club curriculum. Before this, we have used various curriculum, including Youth Alpha. Alpha only seems to work with personal presentation (for these kids), along with personal devotional teaching, sometimes with art. We also share worship music (outside, after all it is a library, and the kids get excited when they are singing). After worship, teaching and Alpha, we share sandwiches, juice and fruit with the kids. Below, you will find a link to the My Father's House Worcester website, and some videos of our worship songs:
Tony and L-A lead one of their favourites in April 2018 or so. This group of children really love to sing
Daniel Mendes joins us from Brazil to play violin in July 2018. He's a YWAM short-termer
L-A shared on soaking prayer with the kids, and demonstrated the water and sponge as an illustration of the practice. The Holy Spirit is the water, and we are the sponge. We decided to 'soak' to two songs before going on to the Alpha teaching. Sometimes we had friends Tanya Milette and/or Christie Adams help us as well. L-A also shared on changing a heart of stone into a heart of flesh, and then talked about Canada. We shared maple candies, which were much appreciated.

We had a lovely time after worship, where L-A taught about worshipping the Lord through art. We scanned two of her drawings, so the kids could join in the creation by colouring them in. We have done this exercise three times, each of them was special - but even more so when one of the MFHW Avian Park kids was represented in the drawing.
We look forward to more time of journeying with these precious kids in some way. Sometimes we get hugs, other times, giggles and songs. It's never a boring afternoon. We have been thankful for Soraya's discipline and wonderful translation skills into Afrikaans. We also invited our friend Hannah to come speak Afrikaans on our last Monday at the Avian Park Library, on September 17th. From now on we will minister to the Avian Park kids with and alongside our Mailbox Club teen leaders. These girls will hold Bible studies in homes in Avian Park, beginning October 15th. We have two homes so far that have said yes. We need five.
Below, Kaysha Bucher from Iris Vinkriver kids club holds a little one, L-A serves juice, and laughs with one of our teen leaders. Tony warms up playing "Amazing Grace" with YWAM visitor Daniel Mendes, Tony shares with the club, and little Mya plays with our penguin timer while our teens from Mailbox Club/My Fathers House are being trained.

Our MFHW teen leaders have been taking a Mailbox Club course in our home on Saturday afternoons. They finished that course, and we celebrated with them at Karoo Desert Botanical Gardens, and later at Worcester McDonalds, where their teen hunger showed it's face. Here are selected pictures of the day (which does include a few of their selfies). Starting October 15th, they will lead small Mailbox Club Bible studies with younger children in Avian Park. We know they can do it!
Our MFHW teen girls also were included in YWAM's got Talent as dancers, and helped us with our last art day with the kids. They got to colour in a new drawing of L-A's that was of Jesus with kids from Avian Park and Vinkrivier. And of course, some of the girls love to jump in their selfies. We chose the best of the best.
