Between 2007 and 2009, I underwent 3 hip surgeries in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Laurie-Ann Copple (a friend I made while attending Bible college) and her husband Tony Copple took care of me. This included numerous trips from my home 2.5 hours west of Ottawa, for my appointments with the surgeon, I rested at their home for 3 gruelling months following my very serious 2007 and 2009 hip surgeries. They provided the essentials for my life during this time frame and sent many care packages while I was sorting out my life (when I didn't recover as was expected). I genuinely didn't have the financial means of helping myself through this time.
They are now embarking on a 3 year missions trip to the Western Cape area of South Africa. I encourage you to pray for their time there and donate if you are so led. You may learn more about this coming time at www.coppleswesterncape.ca

Blessings to you all,
For over a year I have had the privilege of having Laurie-Ann Copple work for me as an executive assistant. She was the first person that I had work for me in ministry, and she helped me to get this ministry to the next level. She did more for us than I expected and I will miss her expertise very much, but she is about to undertake a new adventure with her husband Tony. They are about to join Rolland and Heidi Baker’s organization (and Iris Ministries Canada) at the Iris Western Cape base in South Africa.
I was thinking that it would be nice for us as a community to bless them, as they take this new leap of faith. Today I want to invite you to sow into Laurie-Ann’s ministry as she prepares to leave Canada in early November for South Africa. They have not yet raised their full support so perhaps together we can help make that a little easier for them. Today you have the opportunity to sow into a wonderful couple that have a heart to minister to the widows, orphans and latch-key kids in the townships.
Laurie-Ann has also asked me if any of you folk would like to pray for them. She will be sending out email updates, and is on Facebook (Copples in Western Cape). Her ministry email is laurie-ann@coppleswesterncape.ca. I also recommend that you visit the Copples’ site and get to know them.
Many blessings to you for this new season,
Darren

Catch the Fire Ottawa leadership
It is with great joy to see how the Lord has led Laurie-Ann and her husband Tony to serve as missionaries with Iris Ministries in South Africa for three years! We are so excited for them as they step out in faith to help so those in need on the missions field. Laurie-Ann and Tony will be leaving on November 8, so November 5th is the last Sunday that we’ll get to see them before they leave. We plan to have a time of prayer for them at service tomorrow to send them off, so be sure to come and bless them. Whenever Laurie-Ann has come to church, she always has a big smile on her face, which greatly blesses everyone and we will miss her. For more information on their ministry to South Africa, you can check out their website and Facebook page;

We had a wonderful time sharing simply as a husband-wife tag team at Cafe Church on November 4th, 2017. Here is a feedback email sent by their team:
"On behalf of the Café Church Steering Committee, I want to thank you very much for coming to Café Church and sharing with us the amazing mission you are about to undertake in Western Cape with Iris Ministries. I really appreciated learning about Iris Ministries and the vision you both have for working with latchkey kids , art, prison ministry and in other areas, while you are there. This is a major undertaking and we will pray that God will use you and bless your ministry there. I have had lots of positive feedback on your presentation and I hope that generates prayer and financial support for your work. Thank you both for taking the time to do this when you have so much on your plates with getting ready to leave. May God Bless You and Keep You."

The Copples are doing something wonderful, that we all think would be great to do, but THEY'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT --- 3-years: what a huge commitment. God Bless!

Tyndale Seminary, Toronto, Canada
After Tyndale, Laurie-Ann has worked in ministry administration and radio. However Laurie-Ann's heart has always been on the mission field, and once her husband Tony retired, both attended Iris Global's Harvest Missions school in Pemba, Mozambique. They were part of an extended mission to Western Cape, South Africa, in a wine-growing region east of Cape Town. Both fell in love with the country and it's people. They discerned a strong call to the latch-key children of the townships, and other vulnerable people. They also plan to minister in prisons, hospitals and "Kid's Clubs," as well as assist at the local Iris Western Cape base. They will represent Iris Ministries Canada, and leave for South Africa in November 2017. If you would like to learn more, their website is http://www.coppleswesterncape.ca/
De Le Bat School of the Deaf, Worcester, South Africa
Principal Philip Cook was interviewed by Tony for the CWCP Worcester Reports. It was our 27th show, and the 28th will follow with part 2 of his excellent interview. Here is a message that Philip sent to encourage Tony: "Listening to the pod cast has been an experience of challenge and recognition. Challenge because it must be truthful and genuine. Recognition because of the investment GOD has made in our lives and the calling to serve in Deaf education. I trust it will (also) enlighten listeners to hear about De la Bat." One of the mandates of what we do on our internet radio station is to encourage the local ministries and people of Worcester. Thank you Philip for confirming this! And we bless your school, staff and students.

I have friends who went to South Africa two years ago when Tony was in his mid seventies and L-A is approaching her sixties in a few years. They have been serving young South Africans in one of the townships in the Western Cape. They inspire me. It hasn’t always been easy for them, but they have run their race with joy, creativity and purpose. I am inspired by people who live their senior years in conscious devotion to the goodness and purposes of God, relying on His nearness and power to sustain them and give them hope. That’s how I want to finish out this life. In the words of a classic worship song, This is my desire – to honour You.
